Abstract: Hollywood producer Randall Emmett has once again slashed the price of his Los Angeles hillside home and now we know why.

The former fiancé of "The Irishman" producer and "Vanderpump Rules" star Lara Kent is desperate for a quick sale as Emmett's 4,300 square foot Bel Air mansion is facing foreclosure proceedings, according to public records.

The property is currently listed at $4.75 million, down a staggering $1.545 million from when it was originally listed in May 2022.

One of Emmett's lenders, Cidel Financial Services LLC, initially filed a complaint alleging that he had defaulted on the mortgage in March. Then, in early May, the lender, Oakhurst Income Fund I LP, issued another notice of default to Emmett.

When he bought the home in 2017 for $3.925 million, Emmett took out a mortgage in the amount of $2.575 million. Information on additional loans against the home since then is scarce, but this could be a multi-million dollar debt.

Built on a street with only four homes, the modern mansion sits on 0.6 acres with canyon views and a corner of the Pacific Ocean. A wall of windows opens to the backyard, which includes a pool and spa, a newly resurfaced pique court, a kitchen, and a sitting area with a fire pit.

The house on Mulholland Drive has been featured several times on television. Shortly after the sale of the four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom house, Emmett and Kent enlisted the help of renowned interior designer Jeff Lewis.

The renovation was included in an episode of Lewis' Bravo show "Flipping Out". Then, in 2019, Emmett made his debut in the eighth season of Vanderbilt Rules, where he and Kent filmed several times on the property.

Emmett is likely to face another wave of public scrutiny when news comes out about his real estate strife, and a new Hulu documentary, "The Randall Scandal: Love, Loathing and Vanderpump," which will be released on May 22, takes a closer look at the lawsuits, mounting debts and allegations of workplace abuse against Emmett.

The filmmaker's bad behaviour was first exposed in June 2022 by the Los Angeles Times, which described the former movie mogul's business as "an empire in the process of collapsing".
