Detailed Introduction Of This Home
The Hinds House, noted work of Richard J. Neutra, AIA, celebrated master of Modernist form. Sited in Mt. Washington the residence circa 1950 is presented in a pure state with minimal augmentation, distilled by time and gloriously untouched. Sheets of glass and Neutra's renowned spider-leg roof beams extend the space into a surrounding natural landscape and scenic panorama. Two bedrooms, two baths, carport, kitchen, living room and dining patio embody a minimalist paradigm paneled in wood; everything in its place including built-in furniture and lighting, a phonograph + speaker concealed in cabinetry, all part of Neutra's groundbreaking interconnected design. Photographed by Julius Schulman and documented in numerous publications the residence is offered for the first time in decades, seeking a steward to preserve, restore and cherish a singular work of which Neutra himself wrote, "I do myself believe that it is one of the nicest and best conceived creations which we have accomplished."
